  1. Contour Potentiometer Help Info    *

  3. The  contour  potentiometer  gadgets
  4. serve  two  purposes.   To   provide
  5. visual  feedback   on   the  contour
  6. potentiometer gadgets, and  to  give
  7. you  an  indication of the height of
  8. the contours in the contour  editing
  9. section of the Contour Palette.
  10.  
  11. They also give you a way of  setting
  12. a  given contour's height.  When you
  13. drag the potentiometer  gadget,  you
  14. are  using  a  less  than   accurate
  15. method  for   setting   a  contour's
  16. height.   You  can  also  modify   a
  17. contour's height by clicking in  the
  18. container  of   the   potentiometer.
  19. Clicking  above   the  potentiometer
  20. knob increments the contour's height
  21. by one.  Clicking below the gadget's
  22. knob decrements the contour's height
  23. by one.

  25. You  can  also  change  a  contour's
  26. height  by  using  the  Set  command
  27. gadget to give  you  better  control
  28. over a contour's height.
